Security Dog Handlers from Watchdogs Ltd

Dogs (RIP)

My true partner ‘TEX’

I took you in from nine months old, paid the money and you were sold,
A stunning dog with athletic build, fast and nimble around the field.

You began to see I was there for you, your health and welfare were but a few,
There wasn’t a day we spent apart, a true relationship about to start.

As you grew bigger and wiser too, you took on your job, right on cue.
The training you had stood you in good stead, for protecting your partner from toe to head.

The training you loved, the agility, the ‘A’ frame, the long jump and ditch
You always managed this without a hitch.

Your drive and passion I could not fault, your energy and speed, I would not halt
You wanted to please me all the time, protection, agility and search on the line.

Even in transit you would not sleep, stand fast and ready your partner to keep
When confronted with violence out in front, you stood your ground, then went on the hunt

You would find your man and bark so loud, letting me know which one from the crowd,
you had no fear, no boundaries in mind, you protected me, you were so kind.

Tex, I thank you, you are a true friend, the saddest day, it’s now the end.

Phil, your ever faithful partner.

Rebel & Chance – The Original Watchdogs!

If it should be that I grow frail and weak, and pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done, for this — the last battle — can’t be won.

You will be sad I understand, but don’t let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest, your love and friendship must stand the test.

We have had so many happy years, you wouldn’t want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.

Take me to where my needs they’ll tend, only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me, until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time you will agree, it is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved, from pain and suffering I have been saved.

Don’t grieve that it must be you, who has to decide this thing to do;
We’ve been so close — we two — these years, don’t let your heart hold any tears.

My Boys,

You protected me and comforted me, for that I thank you.
We will always be forever friends. xx
